That’s it for this week’s roundup. Keep your chin up and your resume ready—opportunities are out there!

I once landed a role by showcasing a unique case where I identified a significant discrepancy that others missed. It really helps to have a strong narrative about your problem-solving skills, especially in complex cases like these. What’s the most challenging financial puzzle you’ve encountered?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌

I’ve found that diving deep into the details of a case can really set you apart, especially in a role like Managing Director. During my last interview, they were impressed when I demonstrated how I used Excel to visualize financial discrepancies that led to a significant recovery for the client. It’s all about illustrating your problem-solving skills in a way that reflects the unique challenges of the role.

Sharing a compelling story during interviews can make a huge difference. I remember one time I highlighted how I streamlined a forensic audit process, which really caught their attention. @r_kingsley58, do you think that storytelling is just as important for interviews in accounting?
